Course content
1. Basic features of Judaism of the Second Temple 2. Individual factions in Judaism and their characteristics 3. Historical background of Jesus' life 4. Development of research on the historical Jesus (No Quest, the Old Quest, the New Quest, and Jesus Research - the Third Quest) 5. Primary sources about Jesus and their character 6. Jesus' birth and youth 7. The relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist 8. The main features of Jesus' public activity 9. Jesus' self-understanding and titles related to Jesus 10. The process of Jesus and the crucifixion 11. Formation of Jesus' followers after his death 12. Jerusalem Jewish Christian community 13. Christianity and rabbinic Judaism as the heirs of the Judaism of the Second Temple
