Course content
Heraclitus of Ephesus. Problems of translation. Character of doxography. Interpretating direct fragments. Interpreting particular writings nowadays. Ancient writings - retention, character, means of expression. Meaning fields. Logos. Fire. Shared. Awakening. Consciousness. Life and death. Antithesis. Fight. Physis. Soul. Destiny. Common people. The divine game. Aristotle - 10th to 14th chapter of the IVth book of Physics - treatise on the time. The fragments of the old Stoics - excerpt.

learning outcomes
Students will deepen their knowledge of sources of the ancient philosophy and their content layers, that makes students possible to get the insight to the problems of ancient philosophy as a whole. The knowledge of sources helps to deeper recognize and understand lots of connections of the philosophical systems of the studied period.
