Introductory lesson: Philosophy and its importance for the helping professions Philosophy as critical reflection: thought, language and contemporary social challenges Philosophy as Critical Reflection: The Culture Wars Philosophy as a practical skill: communication in the helping professions Ethics as a practical philosophy Ethics in healthcare Ethics in social work and special pedagogy Code of ethics for social workers and special educators Ethics of care Ethical aspects of crisis life situations and vulnerable population groups Ethical aspects of the end of life Ethical dilemmas in healthcare, social services and special education Credit test

to use the basic principle of the philosophical approach and to applie the important ethical approaches, principles
to distinguish demands of different ethical approaches and attitudes in the field of helping professions
to justify reasoning to the issues of medical ethics
to distinguish and explain the principles of ethics and law as well as morality
to use the knowledge of ethical approaches to solve the proposed problems and assess the use of the appropriate principle
to distinguish the use of approaches based on age of clients and given situation

to process and use appropriate theoretical resources to solve ethical problems
to address and apply a reasoned opinion on ethical issues for the helping professions
to predict the basic possible continuation of the situation
to assess the suitability of the solution under specific conditions
