Course content
This topics will be focused: Searching of methodological ideal (J. S. Mill, W. Whewell, W. S. Jevons). Logical atomism (L. Wittgenstein, B. Russell). Verifikationalism of A. J. Ayer. Problem of scientifical interpretation (C. Hempel, E. Nagel, C. Levi-Strauss). Scientifical theory and observation (R. Carnap, N. R. Hanson, I. Toulmin, W. V. Quine, T. Kuhn, Ph. Frank). Science and value (C. Hempel, N. Rescher). Science and culture (H. Feigl). About the characteristic of scientifical method (R. Carnap, H. Reichenbach). Another philosophicaly-scientifical conceptions (S. Toulmin, D. Shapere, L. Laudan, B. Latour, N. R. Hanson, G. Holton, B. C. van Fraasen, N. Cartwright). Ontological, epistemological, logical problems of science in particular historical periods of progress of the philosophy of science. Specifics of sociological and humanity sciences. Progress of humanity ideal of scientifical knowledge. The relationship of natural and sociological sciences and humanities.

learning outcomes
Students will be able to summarize and evaluate basic ideas and problems of philosophy of science of 20th century. They will compare important philosophical views on science. Most important personalities of philosophy of science of 20th century and their opinions and ideas will be presented to the students.
