Course content
Hermeneutics as comprehension and interpretation of a text; pre-stages of hermeneutics (Plato, Filon, Origenes, Augustin, Luther); Schleiermacher: priority of misunderstanding; Gadamer: the universality of understanding; biblical hermeneutics, steps of exegesis; author-centered methods (historical-critical method, new archeology); author-centered methods (social history exegesis, historical psychology); text-oriented methods (linguistic structural methods, new literary criticism); text-oriented methods (canonical interpretation of Scripture, Scripture as a speech event and a word event); methods aimed at the reader (history of action, deep psychological exegesis, exegesis of symbols, bibliodrama); reader-centered methods (exegesis of liberation theology, feminist exegesis); matter-oriented methods (dogmatic interpretation, fundamentalist interpretation); matter-oriented methods (existential interpretation)
