Course content
The course is designed for students who wish to complete BA Humanities degree in the respective academic year. It is an oral exam in front of a jury, which each part generally lasts about 15-30 minutes. The course and other requirements of the exam regulated by the Study and Examination Regulations of The University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. Final (Bachelor) state examination consists of four parts: 1. Bachelor's Thesis Defense; 2. Examination in Philosophy; 3. Examination in Czech History (in European Context); 4. Examination in optional course - a) Anthropology, b) Aesthetics, c) History of Philosophy and Philosophy of Science d) Librarianship and Information Services, e) Politology and Public Administration, f) Psychology, g) Religious Studies h) Sociology. During preparation for the BA exam, candidates may use individual or group consultation meetings with guarantors of disciplines relating to the exam areas.

Knowledge
A student may take the final Bachelor exam after he/she has met all requirements given in the curriculum design of the Humanities study filed set up by the Department of Philosophy and all rules contained in the Study and Examination Statute of the University of West Bohemia.

Successful completion of the BA exam demonstrates that students acquired sufficient knowledge, skills and competence in accordance with the requirements of their respective study programmes and study fields.
