- Introduction to European Studies - History of Europe after 1945 - European integration - past and present - The main EU institutions - EU economy - Role of the EU in international relations - The countries of Central and Eastern Europe within the EU - EU and migration - Europe today - challenges and prospects I - Europe today - challenges and prospects I

to explain basic facts dealing with the history of 20th century Europe
to identify key personalities of contemporary European political and social life
to provide a basic analysis of the current political and social developments in Europe
to name some English information sources on the EU or Europe in general

to use the basic English specialized vocabulary related to European Studies
to identify the main ideas of English specialized texts aimed at the past or present of Europe and EU
to summarize these texts adequately
to actively engage in a discussion of a given topic
to provide a basic explanation of one´s own viewpoint related to a give topic
