Course content
1) The culture of Kievan Rus'. 2) Architecture of Kievan Rus'. 3) The Christinazation of the Kievan Rus' and the development of writing. 4) The first written monuments (The primary Chronicle, The Tale of Igor's Campaign). 5) Culture, art and architecture of the Grand Duchy of Moscow (The Moscow Kremlin, the Saint Basil's Cathedral). 6) Iconography and the development of printing press. 7) Reforms of Peter the Great. 8) French enlightment and adapting it to Russia. 9) Literature of 18th century (classicism, sentimentalism). 10) Literature of 19th century (transition from the romanticism to realism and to critical realism). 11) Slavophilia and Westernism. 12) The architecture of the Kievan Rus'. 13) Fine arts of 19th century (The Itinerants or Psedvizhniki). 14) Russian decorative art. 15) Russian music.
