Literature of the Belle Epoque: Proust, Gide Birth of the avant-garde (Futurism, Cubism, Dadaism, Surrealism) Inter-war drama (Giraudoux, Cocteau, Anouilh) and absurd drama The Novel of 1st half of the 20th century: Saint-Exupéry, Malraux French existentialists (Sartre, Camus, de Beauvoir) The New Novel (Robbe-Grillet, Sarraute, Duras) The Postmodern Literature Literature of French-speaking Belgium (Yourcenar, Toussaint, Mallet-Joris, Nothomb) Literature of Quebec (Audet, Kokis, Tremblay, Poulin, Proulx) and Maghreb Contemporary French Literature (Houellebecq, Modiano etc.)
