1. Evolution of theories concerning atomic structure 2. Atom models 3. Quantization 4. Vector model of an atom 5. Atomic nucleus 6. Radioactivity 7. Interaction of radiation and mass 8. Detection 9. Accelerators 10. Nuclear reactions 11. Elementary particles

Knowledge
The students should have mastered the basic university courses in general physics, especially mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and be able to employ basic algebraic calculations and mathematical analysis operations.
learning outcomes
The students will be able to explain phenomena connected with physical principles in the atomic shell (e .g. the origin of X-rays, the emission spectrum shape, molecular bonds, wave properties of microparticles, the periodic chart, magneto-optical phenomena). They will be able to apply the principles they have learned about the atomic nucleus to the phenomena observable in the macroworld (e.g. nuclear magnetic resonance, radioactivity, its use and its detection, particle accelerators, nuclear reactor and nuclear power plant). The students will be able to explain the properties of different microparticles based on classification and composition.
