Course content
Plasma definition and the description of its unique properties. Definition of basic plasma particles. Description of characteristics of basic collisions and the energy transfer during binary collisions. Gas breakdown and single discharge ignition. Basic characteristics of glow and arc discharge (DC and pulsed). Plasma interaction with a solid surface. Processes of magnetron sputtering and arc evaporation and their comparison with the process of vaporization and chemical vapor deposition. An overview of application areas utilizing a discharge plasma
