Course content
Introduction to Geography of Health and Disease: definition of the "disease" or "health"; key terminology. Data sources, databases, accessible info and appropriate literature (incl. Gapminder). Example of spatial analysis of the disease in region: triangle of human ecology. Serious pandemics in the world: examples from the history and presence. Geography of HIV / AIDS: global pandemia with a special focus of Sub-saharan Africa. Non-communicable diseases: a case study a particular region. Health and diseases in developed world. Health and disease in our current world: what can I do to protect my health? Current and up-to-date topics.
