Course content
1. General introduction, introduction to the content of semester, setting and material preparation for the first task/topic. 2. - 4. Case binding - realization. 5. Possibilities of paper decoration. 6. - 8. Book cover realization - paper, half-canvas, canvas. 9. - 11. Pop-up book techonolgy. 12. - 13. Record file.

learning outcomes
The student can recognize characteristics of historical bookbinding styles, s/he knows basic subject matter terminology, can practically handle basic bookbinding varieties. Students: - Can remember basic bookbinding terms, - Can describe and distinguish between basic bookbinding varieties, - Use materials: paper, paper stock during seminars, - Create a sketch-book (attached binding with a narrow spine) and a folding picture book, - Work individually on tasks leading to traditional bookbinding form or to experiments, - Can design and realize their own author book.
