Course content
Overview of topics: 1-2. Postmodern philosophy and its influence on visual arts. Postconceptual tendencies in art. Definition of contemporary art, 3-4. Current art theory and practice, institutional criticism, collaboration, participation, performance art, artist run-spaces, the phenomenon of art collectives, the archival turn, climate distress and postcolonialism, 5-6. Presentation of a work of art within the framework of contemporary curatorial theory and practice, 7-8. Creative and cultural sectors and their use within the doctoral project, 9-12. Interpretation of one's own work (preparation of artistic and theoretical outputs, rules of creative writing, mind maps, advantages of interdisciplinary cooperation, how to prepare for a conference contribution, etc.).

To successfully master the subject, it is assumed that the student is able to: orient yourself in the basic development directions of modern and contemporary art, recognize the main theoretical and aesthetic contexts of postmodern philosophy and conceptual art, understand the basic principles of exhibition practice and its historical development
Skills
In order to successfully master the subject, it is assumed that the student will be able to: to reflect one's own artistic creation in a wider socio-cultural context, work with professional texts focused on art theory and curation, formulate questions regarding the role of art in public space and within cultural institutions.

Knowledge
After completing the course, the student demonstrates knowledge of: the main directions and tendencies of contemporary art and their theoretical anchoring (e.g. post-conceptual tendencies, institutional criticism, participatory and collective practice), current curatorial approaches and ways of presenting a work of art in different contexts, the functioning of cultural-creative industries and their relationship to visual arts, design and research projects in the field of art.
Skills
After completing the course, the student demonstrates the skills: analyze and interpret contemporary artistic and curatorial approaches in the context of one's own creative practice, to conceive the presentation of one's own artistic output with regard to the curatorial framework and the chosen space, apply methodological and theoretical knowledge in the preparation of professional or creative outputs (e.g. for exhibitions, conferences or grant competitions).
