Course content
Selected articles from Engineering Design Science and Methodology (EDSM) with a focus on the field and topic of the dissertation. The acquired knowledge is applied in a written work conceived as a starting point for the dissertation thesis for the State Doctoral Examination and as a study for future dissertation work. Transformation and technical systems and processes. Material technical products as heterogeneous technical systems for the implementation of transformation processes. Properties, taxonomy of properties, quality and competitiveness of technical products throughout their life cycle. Structures of technical products as the main milestones of their systematic creative design. Basic knowledge and methods for achieving the required and evaluation of predicted properties of technical products "Design for X" understood as complementary components "Navigation for X" and "Prediction of X", incl. their taxonomy. Prediction, evaluation and reduction of risk events / situations of the technical system and the technical product. Design and evaluation of technical products as an integrated process of four basic strategies of its knowledge support in order to effectively achieve a sub-optimal state of the required properties.

Learning activities and teaching methods
unspecified
prerequisite
Knowledge
to acquire basic concepts related to transformation and technical systems and processes, describe tangible technical products, formulate and write down your ideas in a comprehensive language unit, independently search for theoretical support sources
Skills
interpret, with the help of technical terms, reproduced or otherwise presented examples of material products and associated transformation processes, analyze the text and context of the design work, be aware of the values that form one's own opinions in the field of artistic-aesthetic courts, articulate, cultivated and arguably these courts to the partners in the discussion, reflect different opinions, critically consider them and confront them with their own opinions, search for proven, systematic and respected sources of knowledge in the professional community and use them to enrich the personal and professional competence portfolio
