Course content
- Tasks of geodesy in civil engineering. Surveying service in the Czech Republic. - Geodetic control and reference systems. Documentation of geodetic stations. - Instruments and methods of angular measurement. - Instruments and methods of distance measurement. - Instruments and methods of elevation and height measurement. - Methods of direct and indirect gathering of geospatial data. - Fundaments of coordinate computations. Area and volume determining. - Fundaments of theory of errors and adjustment calculus. - Measurement for design, spatial survey of planimetry in large scale. - Map documentation for preparation, design and permission of constructions. Geodetic part of project documentation. - Staking out of terrestrial building constructions in 3D. - Control and verification measurement in civil engineering. Authorization. - Role of cadastre of real estates in civil engineering in the Czech Republic. Surveys in the field: - Field inspection of geodetic control, basic geodetic tools and instruments. - Angular and distance measurement, determining of elevations and heights. - Surveys for projects. Creation of thematic large scale map. - Staking out.

learning outcomes
General orientation in geodetic activities during preparation, realization of building construction and surveys for documentation of real state-of-art of building constructions. Activities connected with ownership relations and entry of rights into the cadastre. Special surveys concernig observation of deformations and checking of building constructions.

Setting-out of space and vertical position of the building.
Evaluate the suitability of the available base maps for planning.
