Course content
1. Introduction to polygraphy. Basic definitions and concepts. Historical development of polygraphical techniques (woodcut, copperplate engraving, wood engraving, lithography,photomechanical transfer of image, optical transfer of image, half tone technology, gravure printing, plane and rotary offset, seriography), types of models. 2. Reproduction photography ( photographic processing, instruments and materials). Contact and reflex copying. 3. Colours and colour models (additive and subtractive mixture of colours, colour models RGB, CMY, CMYK, HSV, HSB, HLS). 4. Introduction to reprography. Basic definitions and concepts. Historical development of reproduction techniques ( blue print, argentography, dyeline printing, electrography, micrography). 5. Reproduction of text models (definitions and script types, typesetting, corrections). Reproduction of image models. Computer typography. Practical training: text correction. 6. Map proof and offset print (montage technologies, print plates). Technology of digital print (computer-to-plate, computer-to-cylinder, computer-to-press, computer-to-print, non impact print). 7. Finishing operations in map production (cutting machines,folding machines, bindings). Bookbinder works (machines, book binding). Special cartographical products( globes, tactile maps, anaglyph maps, ...). 8. Desktop Publishing. 9. Graphical editors.

samostatně připravit jednoduché grafické dílo v kvalitě vhodné pro tisk s použitím digitálních technologií
