Course content
Course program: 1. Definition and characterization of the concept of civilization, bibliography, basic interpretative concept. 2. The East East - The Cradle of Civilization, Mesopotamia. 3. Egypt and the civilization of the African continent. 4. India - Hindu and Buddhist Civilization Circle. 5. China and Japan. 6. Persia of Zoroastrism. 7. Pre-Columbian Civilizations in America. 8. Greek-Roman culture and the link of ancient civilization. 9. Foundations of European civilization, Jewry and Christianity. 10. Islam and the first clashes with Christianity. 11. Differentiation of Christian civilization, European Reformation. 12. Colonialism and Euro-American expansion - a clash of civilizations 13. Contemporary Civilization Circles and Globalism.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 30 hours per semester

Knowledge
to demonstrate basic overview of the history and cultural development of mankind in the range of the curriculum history and social science foundations for high school.

to work in a meaningful way with professional text, to orientate in the basic historical chronology, to use in the basic range of historical thinking, to basic historical terminology, to master the bases of analysis, synthesis, comparison and other common logical operations
