Course content
1. The roots of ancient civilizations 2. Civilization of the Middle East 3. Sumer and Akkad 4. Egypt - the periodization and dynasties, natural conditions 5. Egypt - Early Dynastic Period and Old Kingdom 6. Egypt - Middle Kingdom and New Kingdom 7. Egypt - Late Ptolemaic period 8. Babylonia and Syria - Introduction 9. Syria and the Levant 10. Chetits 11. Izraelics and Phoenicians Thematic work performance in the seminar, leadership glossary of terms, demonstrated work with literature, final test. 12. Persian Empire 13. Ancient India and China

Knowledge
insight into the historical roots of problems of ancient civilizations and their struggles. This subject illustrates the basic concept of an interpretative history of human civilization, with emphasis on antiquity. It reviews the major works of contemporary historiography. It also makes students aware of reasons for the cause of development and fall of ancient empires.
Skills
interpretation of the history of ancient oriental despotism, their cultural link, reflection and interpretation of essential literature on the topics of antiquity, expert argumentation within the framework of the problems of subtopics of antiquity, basic didactic applications of topics.
