The European intellectual history 1/ The roots of European thinking 2/ Ancient Greek Philosophy 3/ Roman Intellectual Heritage 4/ The Bible (Old Testament) 5/ The Bible (New Testament) 6/ Effects of Judaism and Islam 7/ Thought of the Christian Middle Ages 8/ Ideas of Renaissance and Humanism 9/ Ideas of Reformation 10/ Modern Philosophy and Enlightenment 11/ History of thinking of the 19th Century 12/ History of thinking of the 20th and 21st century

Knowledge
The graduate has a basic overview of European intellectual development from antiquity to the present and the most important thinkers. He is orientated in the terminology and fundamental problems of the history of European thinking and is able to apply them in contemporary Czech and European intellectual discourse.

Student is able to work independently and creatively with scientific texts and to explain their basic ideas and problems.
