Course content
Content of the course will be key issues world history of modern civilization: the emergence of modern society, the advent of new idology, wrestling absolutism and parliamentarism, nationalism, colonialism and imperial power trends, industrialization, and revolutionary turmoil and crisis in their socio-historical cross. Course program : 1. Congress of Vienna, the Holy Alliance 2. Revolutionary movement in Europe in the 19th century 3. Revolution 1848/1849. Prerequisites, course, consequences 4. Unification of Germany, the fall of the second empire in France 5. Unification of Italy 6. Crimean War, developments in the Balkans 7. Colonial policy powers in the 19th century, disputes power in Africa and Asia 8. China, Japan 9. Latin America in the 19th century 10. U.S. in 19th century, the war of North and South 11. The main problems of development of international relations in the year 1871 - 1914

Knowledge
about the history of the modern era in the 19th century. Learning outcomes of the course unit The student will explain and explain basic problems of European history of modernity in the 19th century, include them in social, political, economic and cultural contexts, will explain in detail the key events.
Skills
application of the acquired knowledge from the history of the modern age in the 19th century in the professional discussion for argumentation, in the creation of a professional text and in the basic level also for didactic purposes - selection of the curriculum. Learning outcomes of the course unit The student will work out the basic chronology of the world's modern age, will be able to argue with the historical events of the modern period, will generalize and apply acquired knowledge, will focus on the basic literature on the European modernity, both Czech and foreign.
