Course content
1st Welcome to the course. What is oral history? The oldest and youngest research method. History of oral history. Oral history in the world. The main currents applied oral history, the world's leading experts of oral history and literature. IOHA. Entering the study of literature. Entering the project task. 2nd Instead of oral history in Czech historiography. Oral History Center, ICH ASCR, Center research projects, cooperation with foreign partners. Center for Oral History Sohi KHI FPE UWB in Pilsen, the cooperation of students in research projects. 3rd The method of qualitative research. Theoretical preparation of the interview: problems of selecting respondents, legislative, technical and psychological aspects. Vs. subjectivity. objectivity in historical knowledge, possibilities and limits. 4th Biographical method and its application in historiography, micro and makrohistorie, application of oral history. 5th Experts debate the given articles. 6th Interview - Practical training: taking samples and analyzing the interviews, demonstrations transkribce, examples of interpretation, the most common errors when preparing and conducting the interview and how to avoid them. 7th Practical exercises - preparation and conducting interviews. 8th Practical exercises - Analysis and interpretation of the interview. Archiving and processing of data. 9th Using the knowledge gained by oral history research in modern history, combined with classical and other historical sources, books of facts obtained correction. 10th Ethics oral historical research, pitfalls and limits of oral historical research. Possibilities of practical application of research results. 11th Student Colloquium presentation of the project task, part 1 12th Student Colloquium presentation of the project task, part 2 13th The final debate with an individual teacher and the granting of credit.

to prepare and professionally lead an interview with the witness, to take out the witness from the legal point of view, to acquire the technical and overhead skills related to the process of extracting the witness, correctly transcribe, interpret and archive the acquired data and to choose one of the offered application directions of oral history: didactics and popularization of history, therapy and geriatrics, ethnography
