Course content
1. Eastern Slavs, historical and cultural characteristics. 2. Kievan Rus and the rivalry in Russian Area 3. Moscow Russia and its rise. 4. Ruriks dynasty. Top Russian dominators of the Middle Ages. 5. Aims and historical opportunities of Romanov dynasty. 6. 19th century in Russia - political and social movements. 7. Fine art, classical Russian music. 8. Russian thought and historical facts in the Revolution of 1917. 9. Stalinism. 10. Selected topics of contemporary Russia. 11. Selected topics of contemporary Russia. 12. Selected topics of contemporary Russia.

learning outcomes
Knowledge
Students can clarify the main periods of Russia in its various political forms. They are aware of the cultural development of Russian society and they know the specifics of Russian art. They are able to expresses the fundamental current problems stemming from the Czech - Russian historical relationships. They are able to navigate in the contemporary sources of objective information on Russian history and lifestyle
