Course content
1. Introduction and requirements, sources and literature, periodization, development and characteristics of the Czech Early and High Middle Ages 2. Slavs, Samo's Empire 3. Great Moravia, The Cyril and Methodius Mission 4. The beginnings of Přemyslid Bohemia, saints and legends 5. Boleslav II, the crisis of the Czech state at the turn of the 10th and 11th centuries, Oldřich, Břetislav I, until the first Czech king Vratislav I. 6. Crisis of the Přemyslid state at the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries, Kosmas, the second Bohemian king Vladislav I and the Crusades, bishops Jindřich Zdík and Daniel I, Conrad II Otto 7. Romanesque art and culture in the Czech lands 8. Gothic art and culture in the Czech lands, architecture, sculpture, painting, literature 9. Ottokar I of Bohemia, Golden Bull of Sicily and Wenceslas I, St. Agnes of Bohemia and St. Zdislava 10. learning outcomes
Knowledge
historical development in the Czech lands in a limited period (early Middle Ages to the Luxembourg government). He knows the events and analyzes them in their historical consciousness, discusses them, orientates themselves in different opinions and views on historical events of the defined period, compares and intervenes domestic events in the wider context of European and world history, applies the knowledge from lectures and seminars to this period of education or other uses, uses the sources and literature separately for this historical period and applies them in practice.
Skills
to incorporate Czech history into the context of European history, to gain the knowledge gained in argumentation for professional discussion, to update the historical knowledge, to apply the historical knowledge in a didactic way.
