Course content
Baroque Music (1600-1720 / 30). Music of Classicism (1720 / 30- early 19th century). Czech Music in the Period of the Enlightenment of Absolutism (Classicism, 1740-1810).

Describe the major epochs of cultural and general history Explain the main principles of the epochs of cultural history Describe the main style features of the epochs of cultural history To name and correctly date the major developmental epochs of European and Czech musical history until 1600. Specify the main musical style of the epoch until 1600. Name the main composing personalities until 1600.

Knowledge
To actively perceive and interpret a musical work in the context of historical, aesthetic, informative, formative and social reflections in the continuity of musical development.
Defining musical culture and musical historiography .
Explain the concept of a music epoch.
Characterize and time-grading individual epochs of Czech and world music development in the period 1600-1800.
Specify and formulate developmental differences and shifts within individual stylistic epochs in the 1600-1800 range.
Describe the compositional style of major composers from 1600 to 1800.
Skills
To independently analyze and interpret selected musical work.
The specific piece of music should be classified historically, determining its musical form.
On a particular example, it is possible to recognize and characterize the distinctive features of the music of the various developmental epochs in the period 1600-1800.
Defend assignment of the selected work to the corresponding development epoch.
