Course content
Satellite communication systems and their use. - Space communication systems. Use of satellites for information transmission. - Orbits of LEO, MEO, GEO, Tundra satellites. Earth's exosphere, parameters. - Basics of space technology. Design principles. Position stabilization, drive. Energy sources. - Electronic circuits on satellites. Protection against ionizing radiation. Thermal conditions. Cooling. - Satellite radio channel, noise, attenuation, balance, modulation, delay, limitation. - Signal processing in satellite communication systems. Data transfer for interplanetary probes. - Communication and command systems on LEO tracks. Piko and Nano satellites. - Radiotelephone and data satellite systems on LEO tracks. IRIDIUM, Starlink, - Radiotelephone and data satellite systems on the GEO orbit. - Radio positioning using satellites. Principles and possibilities and accuracy. Data transfer. - GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou navigation systems. Positioning. Accuracy. Differential GPS. - Broadcasting networks. Use of GEO satellites. DVB. - Use of optical signal in satellite communication. Security of satellite communication systems.
