Course content
1st week: History of fire protection and fire safety, legal background, standards of fire protection and fire safety ? fire codex. 2nd week: Types of documents for fire protection, projects for fire safety, technical norms, testing, certificates. 3rd week: Organization of the fire brigades, fire-protection units, state fire control. 4th week: Fire resistance of structures. 5th week: Fire safety of non-productive buildings, main terms and concepts. 6th week: Classification of structures and structural systems of non-productive buildings. 7the week: Escape routes and intervention routes, access points for non-productive buildings, minimal secure distances and hazardous areas for non-productive buildings. 8th week: Buildings for housing and accommodation, civil buildings. 9th week: Fire safety of productive buildings, main terms and concepts, calculation of the fire risk. 10th week: Escape routes and intervention routes, access points for productive buildings, minimal secure distances and hazardous areas for productive buildings. 11th week: Open storage, storage inside production buildings, garages, agricultural buildings and other buildings. 12th week: Fire safety of technologies. 13th week: Changes in constructions, change of type of use. Content of the exercises: specific exercises to the single chapters, project for the fire safety for a building with small and high civil use and for a productive building.
