Course content
Topics of lectures: Organization and management of tour guide services (history and current conditions for tour guide services, classification, professionally requirements of providing tour guide services) - Remuneration of tour guide - Travel refunds in domestic and foreign destination - Relationship of tour guide and tour operator Personality of tour guide - Competences in tourism and work of tour guide Psychological and social contexts of work of tour guide - Work of tour guide in multicultural environment - Typology of tourism participants - Style of work of tour guide Methodological basics of tour guide services - Preparation of trips - Work with new information - Basics of topography and navigation - Topographic, psychologic, chronologic preparation Emergency situation - Safety and health protection during work - first aid Realization of tour guide services (work during trips) - Take-over of trips, manipulation with documentary agenda, money and aids - Animation activities in tourism, specifics of providing animation services Obligation of tour guide after trips, work agenda of tour guide connected with evaluation and billing of trips Topics of seminars: Comparative information minimum and information minimum Work style of tour guide and methodology of communication Speech of tour guide - form, content, rhetoric Work with microphone and other aids of tour guide Nonverbal communication, work with tour group First aid course Solving of model situation Preparation of trip program Guiding in town or village Guiding in historical objects Guiding on the road between stops Guiding in nature Billing and evaluation of trips Model and emergency situation in tourism Materials for each topic are during the semester available on Courseware, or in LMS Unifor. There are, if need be, specified further links for study sources. Verifying of students´ knowledge is based on those materials.
