1.History of the contract on the international sale of goods 2.Applicability of the Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods, incl. its exemptions and its relation to other legal regulations 3.Reservations according to the Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods 4.The formation of the contract on the international sale of goods 5.The substantial and secondary obligations of the seller 6.The substantial and secondary obligations of the buyer 7.Material defects of goods in the international business relationship 8.Legal defects of goods in the international business relationship 9.Notification of defects of goods and potential rights arising out of notified defects of goods

Students will have an opportunity within this course called "Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods" to get familiar with the international regulation of the most used contractual relationship, i.e. of the purchase agreement, with a presence of an international item. Furthermore it should make students in particular aware of the applicability of the Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods and of individual rights and obligations of the seller as well as of the buyer as regulated therein.

The attention of the course called "Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods" is given to discussions over current developments in the area of the applicability of the Vienna UN-Convention on International Sale of Goods. Therefore, active participation of students in tutorials will be required. This may also include individual preparation of students, such as providing short annotations of judgements which will subsequently be discussed within the course.
