Course content
Overview of distance measurement in the universe. The Kepler/Olbers? paradox. Observed properties of space ? mass distribution, universe expansion, residual microwave radiation. Early stages of space evolution, standard model, inflation model, the future of the universe. The superstrings theory. Anthropic principle.

Knowledge
The prerequisite is the knowledge of basic astronomical terms and physics.
learning outcomes
The students will familiarise with the contemporary views of universe development, its structure, and with the history of notions of the universe as well as with the most modern theories.
