Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture with visual aids
  • Contact hours - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for formative assessments (2-20) - 25 hours per semester
  • Undergraduate study programme term essay (20-40) - 28 hours per semester
prerequisite
Knowledge
Elementary knowledge of high-school physics. Knowledge of the mathematical apparatus needed for the purposes of mechanics (elements of differential and integral calculus, vector calculus).
learning outcomes
The students have active knowledge of elementary mechanics and they are able to apply them to explaining important situations in the nature and in daily life. They are able to quantify different mechanical processes.
Skills
The student is able to discuss the problematic aspects of the given issue, especially the concepts of motion effects of force (Newton's laws) and energy. He is able to reflect on his level of understanding of this issue.
