Course content
1. Inner construction of materials, sorts structures atoms, make - up atoms and molecules in solid materials. 2. Metals, main crystal textures of metals, lattice failures 3. Dislocation ? edge and spiral dislocations. Frank ? Read´s source of dislocations. 4. Solid solutions, substitute, interstitial, intermedial phase. Phase and phasic transformation. Diffusion in solid materials. 5. Lever rule. Diagrams with entire solubility components in solid state, diagrams with entile insolubleness, diagrams with dull solubility, ternary diagrams. 6. Iron. Carbon in alloies of iron. Metastable system ferrous ? cementite. Stable system iron, graphite. 7. Transformation diagrams. High strength steels. Corrosion-resisting steels. Tool steels. Cast iron. White cast iron, grey cast iron, modular iron castings. Nonferrous metals and their alloys. 8. Characteristics of metal materials, metallurgy production steels failures in steels. Mark steel according to CSN EN 10027 ? 9. Examination of materials, destructive testing, nondestructive testing 10. Corrosion, erosion, abrasion, cavitation 11. Heat treatment - theory heat treatment of steel, cast iron, nonferrous metals, thermomechanic treatment 12. Founding, melting of metals and their alloies. Foundry moulds, composite cores, forming, forging 13. Cold forming, hot forming, recrystallic diagrams, Rolling, drawing 14. Machining, cutting, mechanical, electrochemical, chemical machining, cutting, turning works, lathes, planing, paring, boring, shaving, grinding, lathes, planer, milling machine, drilling machine, gun-boring machine. 15. Unconventional method of cutting, electroerrosive cutting, electrochemical cutting cutting with electron ray, with photons ray (laser), tool and high speed steels - materials 16. Welding - pressure welding -resistance welding, fussion welding, gas welding, arc and electroslag welding, plasma, electron, ultrasonic and laser welding, weldability of steels and alloies, Schaeffler diagram. 17. Soldering, brasing, solder (brasing) wire and flux, technology of solder and brazing. Powder metallurgy, protective coatings, hot spraying, physical coating.

Knowledge
Are necessitated secondary (leaving examination) and in part university knowledge from physicists and mathematics. Further from enclosure of computer technique. In processing of semestral work are requested basic pedagogic and didacted knowledge.

Student copes problems choice of metal materials in light of their essence, election in choice of structures and dimension of choice structure elements in light of their straining.
