Course content
1. Introduction to the Didactics of German: Terminology, Objectives, Methods, and Content of Teaching German as a Foreign Language. 2. Language Skills - Their Development and Learning Strategies; Differences between First and Subsequent Languages; German after English. Acquisition of a Foreign Language - Fundamental Questions, Influences, "Classic Theories": Contrastive Hypothesis, Identity Hypothesis, Interlanguage Hypothesis. 3. National Educational Program (SERR), National Curriculum Framework (RVP), School Educational Program (ŠVP). 4. Didactic Utilization of Positive Transfer in the Lexical Domain. 5. Speech Skills: Listening and Speaking. 6. Speech Skills: Reading and Writing. 7. Basic Principles of Grammar Instruction I. 8. Basic Principles of Grammar Instruction II. 9. The Role of Literary Texts in Teaching German as a Foreign Language: Motivation, Improving Language Competence, Conveying Aesthetic and Ethical Values; Selection of Appropriate Texts - Linguistic and Content Aspects, Principles of Working with Literary Texts; Common Mistakes in Teaching Literature; Group Work with Literary Texts. 10. Implementation of the Above Principles, Practicing the Didacticization of Literary Texts at Levels A1-B1 (Specific Poetry - Döhl, Gomringer, Jandl; Miniatures by F. Kafka). 11. Implementation of the Above Principles, Practicing the Didacticization of Literary Texts at Level B2 (Miniatures by F. Kafka; Herr K. Geschichten by B. Brecht, Poems by I. Aichinger). 12. Project Work: Reading a Book Throughout the School Year, Discussions About It; Preparation of Graduation Exam Questions: Selection of Suitable - Both in Terms of Content and Language - Short Literary Texts as Support for Graduation Topics. 13. Final test; evaluation.
