Course content
1. Acquisition of the Mother Tongue - Basic Questions, Topics, Influences, and Hypotheses: Behaviorism, Nativism (Chomsky), Interactionism. 2. Acquisition of the Mother Tongue - Learning Grammar, Expanding Vocabulary. 3. Acquisition of a Foreign Language - Basic Questions, Influences, "Classic Theories": Contrastive Hypothesis, Identity Hypothesis, Interlanguage Hypothesis. 4. Acquisition of a Foreign Language - Profile Analysis, Stages of Grammar Acquisition, Ways of Conveying Specific Grammatical Phenomena. 5. Critical Assessment of Existing Teaching Materials. 6. Designing Your Own Teaching Materials. 7. National Educational Program (SERR) in the Context of Language Teaching and Educational Materials, Online Materials, Creating Your Own Online Materials. 8. Didactic Work in the Lexical Domain - Methods, Utilization of Games. 9. Didactic Work in the Lexical Domain - Linking the Thematic Focus of the Lesson with the Grammar Area, Online Materials, Utilizing Social Networks (Authentic Youth Language). 10. Specifics of Teaching the German Language to Children with Special Educational Needs. 11. Early Teaching of the German Language. 12. Projects and Institutions Supporting Teachers and Students in Further Language Study and Improvement. 13. Evaluation.

Learning activities and teaching methods
  • Contact hours - 39 hours per semester
  • Presentation preparation (report in a foreign language) (10-15) - 15 hours per semester
  • Preparation for comprehensive test (10-40) - 30 hours per semester
  • Team project (50/number of students) - 20 hours per semester
