Course content
Lectures: Gametogenesis. Oogenesis. Ovarian and menstrual cycle. The differences between spermatogenesis and oogenesis. Construction of sperm. The composition of the ejaculate. Fertilization of human oocytes, cleavage and formation of germ discs. The development of umbilical cord, germ membranes and placenta. Development of the external shape of the embryo, growth of the embryo in the womb. Development of the face, nasal and oral cavities and palate. Tongue Development. Cleft defects of the face. Pharyngeal apparatus of the embryo, ento - and ektoderm branchial furrow. Development of the esophagus, stomach and intestines; the development of liver and pancreas. Overview of the development of the respiratory system. Foundations of the development the urinary bladder and sinus urogenitalis. Development of the outgoing genital tracts and the development of external genitalia. Primitive blood circulation of the human embryo. Development of the heart and its division into definite sections. Fetal blood circulation. Overview of the skin development. Overview of the development of the eye, the external, middle and inner ear. Foundations of the development of the neural tube and central nervous system
