Course content
Characteristics of ethics focused on the scientific discipline of nursing. Specifics of nursing ethics. Ethical codes of medical personnel, work ethics committees . Patients' rights. European Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Doctor - patient relationship , paternalism versus democracy , informed consent . Equity in health care. The protection of personal data , medical confidentiality , the obligation of confidentiality . The truth about the truth in a hospital bed . Ethical issues of dying and death. Prolongation of life and death , right and euthanasia. Ethical issues in alternative medicine symptomatic versus holistic approach to person. Advantages, disadvantages and limits of Western medicine, research ethics . Ethical issues of Experimental Medicine and medical research, transplantation , genetics. Ethical aspects in gynecology - the right of women and child issues fertilization . Ethical aspects of first aid , ethical care issues for patients in a coma. Ethics in Psychiatry . The importance of ethics for public health practice . The conscience of man - the importance of health - discussion . Ethics in nursing practice - conflict situations sister. Assessment of moral acts , ethical decision making , ethical responsibilities of nurses , nurses , doctors - discussion . Analysis of ethics, and patient rights. Charter of children's rights in hospital. Solution dilemma and conflict situations from an ethical point of view. Discussion about ethical issues relating to the work of nurses , ethical responsibility , co-workers , dilemmatic situation . Protection of human rights and human dignity. Respect the values , traditions and religious beliefs. The Hippocratic Oath . The rights of the disabled . Declaration of the Rights of Mentally Retarded . Charter rights of children hospitalized ethics approach to lethally sick child , an abused child , dysfunctional family. Charter of children's rights in hospital. Presentation of seminar papers , analysis and discussion .
