Course content
Introduction to the major ethical issues in medicine and gynecology and obstetrics. Code of Ethics midwives in practice. Ethical aspects of prenatal diagnosis. Ethical aspects of abortion. Ethical aspects of assisted reproduction. Ethical problems of premature births and neonatology. Ethical approach to alternative methods in obstetrics.

Knowledge
Students must have completed an exam from philosophy and ethics.
learning outcomes
After completing the course students: know-and know how to interpret the basic area code of ethics for midwives. -know the basic ethical principles applied in midwifery. -the idea of the ethical dilemmas associated with the profession of midwifery and are able to discuss and defend their views in this area.
