Course content
Breast-feeding - a gift of life. Importance and composition of breast milk. History of breast-feeding. Psychological aspects of breastfeeding. Proper and harmful techniques of breast-feeding. Positions during breast-feeding - advantages of various positions, effectiveness of various positions. Care of breasts, expressing breast milk, handling breast milk. Lifestyle and nutrition of lactating women. Tools for breast-feeding. World Breastfeeding Week. Lactation League and other organizations to promote breastfeeding. The most common problems with breast-feeding on the mother's side and their correction. The most common problems with breast-feeding on the side of the child and their correction. Principles and management of lactation consulting. Further training in lactation consulting. Case reports from practice and their solutions.
