Course content
Syllabus of lectures: Current ethical problems of internal disciplines, issues of moral distress. Current ethical problems of surgical disciplines, issues of moral distress. The current issue of reproductive medicine, surrogátní motherhood, home births, prenatal diagnosis. Current ethical problems early in life, pediatric nursing. Ethical issues in geriatric nursing. Hospice care. Euthanasia, dysthanazie, palliative treatment, futilní treatment. Ethical aspects of the treatment of HIV patients. Suffering and compassion nursing practice. Economic aspects of ethics in nursing. Syllabus of lectures: Discussion of individual topics. Excursion to the hospice facility.

Student: - Characterizes the use of ethical principles in nursing practice - Describe the current problems in the current health care and nursing practice and give their pros and cons - Explains the issue of possible ethical problems in nursing practice in selected medical specialties - Argues, is capable of / and oppose and propose solutions to selected ethical problem or dilemma - Discussion of problematic situations in practice and advocating their views.
