Course content
Anatomy - Heart physiology, pathophysiology, cardiac definition, basic contents of the field, an overview of the most common diseases treated in cardiac surgery, cardiac outcomes, mortality and morbidity, perspectives. Surgical techniques in cardiology, approaches, extracorporeal circulation - plegia. Surgical treatment of ischemic heart disease (causes, symptoms, TX. Methods, treatment options, complications, prevention, diagnosis, etiopathogenesis) IM - coronary artery - bypass. Valvular defects - stenosis, insufficiency - surgical therapy, diagnostics, etiopathogenesis, treatment. Terminal conditions of heart diseases, issue of heart supports and heart transplantations. Heart tumors - diagnostics, etiopathogenesis, léčba.Úrazy heart. Postoperative care in cardiac surgery, immediate care ARO, invasive and non-invasive monitoring of cardiac surgery. Pharmacotherapy in cardiac surgery. Physical examination should focus on cardio, assessment. Monitoring of physiological functions, assessment. Nursing process for patients in cardiac surgery, continue learned diseases. Management of patient care at the Department of Cardiac Surgery. Education of patients after cardiac surgery, spa treatment.

- Students will be able to describe the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, procedures in seeking needs and their influencing in relation to daily life activities in patients with cardiovascular disease. - Students will be basic orientation in historical development of cardiosurgery - Students will be able to categorize the disease cardiac diseases and their treatment. - Students will be able to assess patients and formulate a plan of nursing care respecting the particularities of approach to patients.
