Course content
- Quality of life and methods of measurement. Social care institutions - their history, mission, function and development. The current situation of institutional care in the Czech Republic. Ethical aspects and social service options with a focus on institutional care. - Physiotherapy and special educational care for clients in social care institutions. Psychological characteristics of disabled clients, the social importance of physical disability and the development of a handicapped child. Psychological and psychiatric care for clients of social institutions. - The care and education of children with mental retardation. Stimulation of cognitive functions, focusing on the development of intellectual functioning in special education and in practical activities. The issue of individual customer care, integration of the disabled into life in society, purposeful activities disabilities, practical examples and experiences. - Experience from foreign facilities caring for the mentally disabled clients. - Sheltered housing is included in the system of care for mentally handicapped people. The issue of clients with sensory disabilities - visual impairment, hearing impairment, speech disorders. Foundations, endowment funds, and OPS. The issue of sponsorships and their use for improving the quality of care for handicapped people. - Care medical worker of handicapped person, communication skills and psychotherapy, therapeutic work with family, self-help groups.
