Course content
Lectures: Legislation transplantation of organs and tissues, the ethical aspects of transplantation. Organization transplant program in the Czech Republic, a network of transplant centers. Determination of brain death. Specifics care giver of the brain within the ICU. Transplant from a living donor. Kidney transplantation - indications. Early and late complications .. Other organ transplantace- liver, pancreas, heart, lung, small intestine. Contents of seminars: Access to the patient after organ transplantation, immunosuppressive therapy. Infectious complications in transplant patients. Nursing aspects of care for patients before and after transplantation. Specialized nursing care before and after the transplant.

Student: - Defines the regulation of organ transplantation and tissue transplantation and ethical aspects of the conditions determining brain death - Describes the types of transplants, the most frequently transplanted organs, tissue transplantation - Characterizes specialized nursing care associated with organ transplantation - Characterizes nursing care in emergencies and crisis situations using complication management and instrumentation - Defines the specific individual needs of patients before and after transplantation, and patients requiring specialized nursing care for all ages - Explains the evaluation needs of the patient who is in need of an organ transplant and establish a plan of nursing care inc. intervention and evaluation in all age categories - Enumerates and describes the possible complications associated with transplantation
