Course content
Introduction. Apparatus. Keeping documentation. Basics monitoring in intensive medicine. Respiratory insufficiency. Mechanical ventilation and oxygen therapy. Acute cardiovascular problems. Shock, sepsis, multiorgan failure. Metabolism and nutrition of critically ill patients.

Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body, nursing and pharmacology.

Student - Demonstrates knowledge of nursing care that is provided to patients in relation to intensive care - Is able to assess the condition of the patient and establish nursing care plan respecting peculiarities of approach to patients requiring intensive care - Implements and evaluates nursing care of patients benefiting from intensive care - Educates patients and their families
