Course content
|
- taking part in client care in an outpatient gynaecological department and antenatal clinic - assisting in gynaecological examination and biological material sampling for cytological examination - vaginal douche, vaginal swab, medicament administration per vaginam, client education - instruments maintenance, preparation, disinfecting and sterilisation - physiological functions monitoring (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, aspiration frequency) - work with pregnancy documentation , anamnestic data gathering, due date calculation - external examination, foetal auscultation, CTG monitoring, pelvic dimensions measurement, symphysis?fundus and abdomen perimeter measurement - weight monitoring in pregnant women, swellings check, basic biochemical urine examination - taking part in psycho-prophylactic preparation of pregnant women for labour, women education

The students are capable of - analyzing the needs of a pregnant woman or a gynaecological patient in an outpatient clinic - finding the main nursing problems, determining diagnoses and preparing a nursing plan - applying their theoretical knowledge to practice - educating a client about a healthy lifestyle in respect both to her health condition and her condition as a whole - demonstrating an external examination of a pregnant woman |
