Course content
Delivery room - admission of a woman with physiological labour and high-risk and pathological pregnancy - external obstetric examination and evaluation of management of the first stage of labour - management of the first phase of labour in women with physiological and pathological labour - second stage of labour management under mentor supervision - assisting at surgical labour - assisting at pre term labour and dead foetus delivery - care of women in third and fourth stages of labour including irregularities - maternal injury treatment under mentor supervision - nursing care of a neonatus under mentor supervision High-risk pregnancy department - nursing process for women with high-risk and pathological pregnancy - performing and preparation of special diagnostic examinations in pregnancy (oxytocine test, care of women with amniocentesis, cordocentesis, etc.) - multidisciplinary cooperation (with physiotherapist, psychologist, welfare officer, dietician, etc.) Neonatology department - nursing process for a physiological and high-risk neonatus - care of a pre term neonatus - assisting at a neonatus resuscitation assisting at a neonatus injury treatment

The students are capable of - identifying independently the main nursing problems, determining diagnoses and preparing a nursing plan - attending independently to a physiologically pregnant woman and puerpera - conducting a physiological delivery - attending to a physiological newborn - attending, under supervision, to a high-risk or a pathological pregnant woman, woman in labour, puerpera and a newborn - selecting, defending and solving nursing problems in midwifery and gynaecology - evaluating the importance of their own interventions in terms of the nursing plan - summarizing the information acquired, connecting their theoretical knowledge with practice - finding and evaluating risk factors and pathological conditions
