Course content
Lectures 1. Introduction to perioperative care. 2. Preoperative preparation, anesthesiological examination, premedication, preparation of the surgical field. 3. Vascular access - specifics and choice of venous access according to the type of surgery. 4. Specifics of operating theatre departments. 5. Types of surgical procedures, operative positions, HER in the OR. 6. Proper patient identification, history taking, monitoring options according to type of surgery. 7. Methods of anaesthesia management - general anaesthesia (CA - supplemented, TIVA), regional anaesthesia (regional peripheral and central blockades - EDA, SAB), analgosedation. 8. Acute conditions arising during surgery, haemotherapy, specifics of CPR during surgery. 9. Methods of management of perioperative and postoperative pain. 10. Post-operative care, stay in the adolescent (recovery) room x ICU x standard inpatient ward. Exercise 11. Specific perioperative complications in gynaecology and obstetrics. 12. The most common complications in naturally induced labour, acute section. 13. Specific perioperative complications in orthopaedics. 14. Comprehensive care of the polytraumatized patient. 15. Postoperative complications (early/late) and their management. 16. Credit examination
