Course content
|
Definition of psychotherapy, types. Psychotherapeutic approach. Theoretical issues of psychotherapy. Methods and techniques of psychotherapy. Effective communication between a healthcare worker and a client. The role of illness in life, escape into illness. Pathogenic nature of interpersonal relationships. Communication with the handicapped, practising optimal communication. Personal characteristics of the therapist, therapeutic relationship. Education for the psychotherapeutic professions.

| Students will know the basics of a psychotherapeutic approach to clients in midwifery. They know elementary psychotherapeutic techniques and methods; they will be able to use these techniques in model situations. Students will identify psychosomatic relationships in the care of women. |
