Course content
Lectures syllabi: 1. Nutrition significance, recommended nutrition doses, basic nutrients, vitamins 2. Nutrition disorders in terms of cause, disorder type, levels of malnutrition 3. Classical energetic-protein malnutrition, marasmus, kwashiorkor 4. Specific deficiencies: lack of micronutrient, endemic struma, xerophtalmia, nutritional anaemia, nutritional ostheopenia, beriberi, lack of B2 vitamin, scurvy 5. Overnutrition, excess weight and obesity 6. Eating disorders, anorexia nervosa, mental bulimia, bulrexia, etc. 7. Nutrition deficiencies resulting from various types of alternative diets, need of supplementation 8. Nutrition deficiencies resulting from chronic diseases, therapeutic nutrition

learning outcomes
The students acquire overview of the impact of nutrition on the health condition of population, acquire how to assess a nutritional status in an individual, make sense of the field of nutritional consultancy in cases of chronic diseases. The students are capable of applying their theoretical knowledge to practice.
