Course content
Introduction to socio-pathological phenomena in the work of a midwife, the effect of socio-pathological phenomena on the health of women, foetuses, children and the family system. Preventing the occurrence of socio-pathological phenomena. Dependencies in pregnancy - alcohol addiction, narcotics, tobacco addiction. Unwanted pregnancy - abortions, secret births, baby boxes. Lonely pregnant women - a father is unknown, a rapist, a foreigner. Pregnancies, childbirths and motherhood of foreign citizens. Pregnant women or recent mothers in prison. Teenage pregnant women, teenage women in labour, teenage mothers. Prostitution and hazardous sexual behaviour. Pregnant women and mothers in prison. Organizations supporting disadvantaged women and children. Importance of supervision at work with socially disadvantaged individuals.
