Course content
Lectures syllabi: 1. Nutrition in general, basic macro and micronutrients. 2. Nutritional recommendations for a healthy woman in pregnancy (Food Based Dietary Guidelines). 3. Nutritional recommendations for pregnant and breast feeding women - recommended nutrition doses ? Population Reference Intake. 4. Lack of micronutrients ( iron, folic acid, iodine, vitamin D, calcium) - its gravity for both foetus and mother 5. Nutritional principles in early gestoses and GIT difficulties 6. Dietotherapy in cases of diseases in pregnancy- gestation diabetes, preeclampsia, phenylketonuria, coeliac disease). 7. Alternative diets in pregnancy and their pitfalls. 8. Nutrition during breast feeding period 9. Nutrition needs of nurslings and toddlers 10. Practical energy and nutritional content calculations of pregnant womens diet and diet planning using NutriDAN software.
